Location Photography: a definition

Defining Location Photography would be like trying to define the world without looking at who lives in it. It is impossible to define something so vast without paying dues to its constituent parts. This being said, Location Photography is said to be any photography that is shot outside of the studio (which is to say, in any natural environment using available lighting).

In class I made a spider diagram (below) of how Location can be broken down, which made me realise how many genres and sub-genres of photography there are, and how the breaking-down process itself seems to represent the 'wheels-within-wheels' nature of it all. We can see that some share the same characteristics, but differ in that different events are happening, or they are happening at different times of day, or featuring different types of people.

I will now attempt to delve into some different genres separately, as a way of showing how each can be broken down
